Job summary

Love's Travel Stops is seeking Diesel Apprentices for their Milan Township location in Michigan. As an apprentice, you will work in a dynamic environment, providing roadside assistance and learning valuable vehicle maintenance and repair skills.

No prior experience is required, and you will receive training in various diagnostics and repairs, including electrical, air conditioning, heating, and brake systems. Join a family-owned company dedicated to innovation and an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
• Must meet Department of Transportation medical standards.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.

Diesel Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and maintain clean places with friendly faces. You will interact with customers & drivers from all over, making their travels and their day better. Are you mechanically inclined with no professional experience? No problem! We will teach you!

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services
• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Must be able to move, lift 75+ pounds and work in close quarters
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures
• Must always put the safety and satisfaction of customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures
• Must work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed
• Must obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love’s)
