Job summary

Love's Travel Stops invites applicants to join the Diesel Apprentices program. Earn $17.50–$25.00 per hour while training in electrical, HVAC, wheel end, air systems, brakes, and diagnostic skills.

The role involves assisting customers and drivers, learning preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety policies. Applicants can expect flexible scheduling, company-paid tuition assistance, and a benefits package including medical/dental/vision after 30 days, PTO, 401(k) with 100% match up to 5%,

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and drivers
• Learn electrical, air conditioning, wheel end, air system, air brakes, charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Perform basic computer diagnostics and component replacement
• Move and lift up to 75+ pounds; work in varying temperatures

Diesel Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and maintain clean places with friendly faces. You will interact with customers & drivers from all over, making their travels and their day better. Are you mechanically inclined with no professional experience? No problem!We will teach you!

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Earn $17.50 - $25.00 p/hr
• Assist customers with roadside services

• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love's)
