Responsibilities
  • Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems
  • Overhaul and repair heavy‑duty engines, clutches, transmissions, differentials, and power systems, cooling systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, or any other system used on medium and heavy‑duty trucks
  • Install engines, transmissions, and other components
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Submit complete technical reports and documentation as required by manufacturers in all components on all makes of trucks and trailers
  • Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction
  • Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts
  • Rewire electrical or electronic systems
  • Align equipment or machinery
  • Repair non‑engine automotive or vehicle components
  • Install vehicle parts or accessories
  • Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems
  • Complies with safety and EPA regulations as well as internal controls
  • Completes all work orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate work order line and comments are entered; understands reason and task codes and signs and checks parts order form
  • Tags all warranty parts with appropriate information
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule
