Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Winchester, VA is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician. The role offers a second shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) with Monday–Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, and weekly pay.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, plus vocational or technical training. CDL-A is preferred with the ability to obtain CDL within 6 months. Candidates must complete background checks and drug tests as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational/technical certification or post-secondary degree (preferred).
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Two+ years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
• Valid CDL Class A (preferred); ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers.
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs
• Conduct preventive maintenance
• Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned tasks
• Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support)
