Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The role offers weekly pay, training, PPE and uniforms, and various bonuses. You will work on heavy‑duty vehicles with state‑of‑the‑art tools and a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include basic vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and routine repairs, with a path for advancement within a community that values veterans and diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A, preferred.
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively; shift work/weekend as required.
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers.
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

• Performs component identification and minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Perform all entry level tasks.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay:$27.97 per hour

• Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700

• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year

• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday

• Hours: Tuesday-Thursday 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Friday 1:30pm - 10:00pm, Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred

• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude

• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers

• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred

• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
