Allegiance Truck Centers in Maine is seeking a Service Technician Apprentice to learn diesel technology by working hands-on with experienced technicians on heavy-duty commercial trucks. No prior dealership experience required; training and mentorship are provided to help you grow into a skilled service technician.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced technicians to learn commercial truck maintenance and repair
• Assist with basic preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections
• Learn proper use of shop tools, equipment and diagnostic resources
• Assist with the removal, installation, disassembly, and assembly of parts and components
• Learn to read and understand repair orders, service information, and technical manuals
• Follow checklists to ensure critical vehicle components are properly examined
• Learn to recognize worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Participate in applicable technical and manufacturer training
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
• Develop positive working relationships with team members and customers
• Take on additional responsibilities as skills progress

Overview

The Service Technician Apprentice is an entry-level position focused on learning and developing the skills necessary to become a successful Service Technician.

Working alongside experienced technicians, this position will gain hands-on experience in commercial truck maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs. Responsibilities will increase as knowledge, skills, and confidence develop.

Previous dealership or heavy-duty truck experience is not required. We will provide training and support to help the right individual learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced technicians to learn commercial truck maintenance and repair
• Assist with basic preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections
• Learn proper use of shop tools, equipment and diagnostic resources
• Assist with the removal, installation, disassembly, and assembly of parts and components
• Learn to read and understand repair orders, service information, and technical manuals
• Follow check lists to ensure critical vehicle components are properly examined
• Learn to recognize worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics as skills develop
• Properly identify and handle warranty parts and returns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Participate in applicable technical and manufacturer training
• Follow all company policies, procedures., and safety requirements
• Develop positive working relationships with team members and custom4ers
• Take on additional responsibilities as skills, training, and experience progress

Basic Qualifications

• Interest in learning diesel technology, commercial truck repair, automotive repair, mechanics, or skilled trade
• Previous fleet or dealership experience is not required
• Mechanical aptitude or interest preferred
• Willingness to learn and receive hands-on instruction
• Dependable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
• Commitme4nt to developing technical skills and knowledge

Licenses/Education/Training

• Previous technical education or training is welcomed but not required
• ASE certification is not required
• CDL is not required to begin the position; future requirements may vary based on job responsibilities
• Willingness to participate in applicable training and development opportunities
