Ryder is hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician in Roseville, Michigan — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends OFF. You will learn to perform basic maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles with state-of-the-art diagnostics and tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• One year or more experience in transportation maintenance preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic vehicle maintenance.
• Performs component identification and minor repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance with training and support.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic tools, required
• One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Additional Requirements

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers
• Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred

• This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
