LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician in Concord, NC. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–5pm, with a first shift focus on diagnostics and heavy repair for Class 6–8 trucks. Strong software proficiency and a broad toolset are essential for success.
You will diagnose complex issues, perform advanced mechanical work including powertrain and braking systems, and uphold zero-comeback quality standards. CDL and ASE/OEM training are highly valued.
Complex Troubleshooting: Lead the diagnosis of complex electrical, ECM, engine, transmission, and aftertreatment (DPF/DEF/SCR) issues using OEM-level software (Cummins INSITE, Detroit DDDL, PACCAR Davie4, Volvo VODIA).
Advanced Mechanical Repair: Perform in-frame/out-of-frame overhauls, powertrain diagnostics, air brake/ABS systems, and hydraulic troubleshooting across all Class 6–8 makes and models (Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, International).
Quality Assurance: Verify diagnostic accuracy before tear-down and inspect finished work to maintain zero-comeback quality standards.
Experience:4+ years of hands-on experience as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician working on Class 6–8 commercial trucks.
Diagnostic Expertise: Expert proficiency with diagnostic software (Cummins INSITE, Detroit DDDL, PACCAR Davie4, or similar OEM systems) and electrical wiring schematics.
Leadership Potential: Strong communication skills, a team-first mindset, and the desire/aptitude to step into a supervisory role.
Certifications: ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (e.g., T2 Diesel Engines, T4 Brakes, T6 Electrical, T8 PM) or OEM factory training preferred. Valid Class A or B CDL is a plus.
Tools: Must possess a complete set of heavy-duty hand tools and air/power tools suitable for Class 8 repair.
