Job summary

TravelCenters of America is hiring a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You’ll perform tests, plan repairs with the Service Advisor, and carry out safe, efficient fixes while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, or trade/technical training, and a willingness to expand knowledge through ongoing programs. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and some holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school or mechanic experience preferred.
• Willingness to expand knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Investment in own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and communicate repair plan to the Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and mechanical/electrical equipment safely, efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Suggest other TA services during inspection reviews.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees.
