Job summary

Ag-Pro Companies is seeking a knowledgeable Service Technician to independently perform complex diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment at our Rome, GA location. The role involves mentoring trainees, supporting customer clinics, and ensuring accurate work orders with thorough documentation.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, lift up to 75 lbs, and use diagnostic tools and Service ADVISOR.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience performing service repairs.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and computer functions.
• Associates degree preferred.

Description

Purpose

Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

• 3+ years of experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of the Technician's specialty
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment
• Experience operating tools and equipment for diagnostic purposes
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing
• Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
