Job summary

JX Enterprises is seeking a Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic to keep customer fleets moving from Effingham, IL. This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00am–3:30pm) in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where reliability and hands-on problem solving are valued.

You will diagnose, inspect, and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty systems, document services, and stay compliant with safety and regulatory standards while collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• For entry level, some previous experience in automotive repair or heavy‑duty truck maintenance is required.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred, or ability to obtain.
• For experienced level, a diesel‑focused technical school program and 2+ years of maintenance/repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and perform diagnostic tests to determine maintenance needs.
• Test engine, safety, and combustion systems to ensure compliance with standards.
• Repair or replace major assemblies and components as needed.
• Evaluate repair options to manage costs and resources.
• Maintain vehicle service records and ensure accurate documentation.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with team to support customer fleets.
