Mossy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our service department. The role focuses on diesel diagnostics, Cummins repairs, electrical troubleshooting, DEF/SCR systems, turbo concerns, fuel systems, and Ram truck repairs in a busy CDJR dealership.

We want a craftsman who takes pride, communicates well, and aims to fix vehicles right the first time, with steady work and growth opportunities in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel diagnostics and Ram/Dodge engines.
• Knowledge of Cummins repairs and DEF/SCR systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel systems and turbo issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current models and communicate with service and sales staff.
• Perform repair work specified on the order efficiently and according to dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to test components and systems.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C.
• Communicate with Service Advisor regarding additional repairs and time estimates.
• Perform warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.
• Comply with company and legal requirements governing vehicle repairs.

The Diesel Technician position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly and Flag Rate Compensation of between $34.00 and $45.00, plus a productivity bonus equivalent up to a maximum hourly rate of $56.00 per hour based on individual performance.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of current models and used vehicles sufficient to effectively communicate with service & sales staff


• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership


• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment


• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.


• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs


• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications


• Complying with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairs

Qualifications

• ASE certifications are ideal


• Strong automotive background


• Strong teamwork skills


• Ability to read and comprehend instructions


• Must have clean & valid driver's license


• OEM certifications are encouraged!


• Ability to exercise good judgment


• Technical or trade school degree preferred


• Clean driving record/ valid CA drivers license.
