Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair tow trucks and wreckers with gas and diesel engines. You will work from light-duty to flatbeds with air brakes and maintain clear repair records.

Strong communication with teammates and a focus on safety are essential. The role requires knowledge across vehicle systems, from routine service to computer-aided diagnostics, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Minimum education: high school diploma or GED and certification/training in diesel engine repair.
Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, electrical systems, and diesel engine mechanisms.
Proficiency in using diesel engine diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

Run diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles, replacing engine, transmission, steering mechanism or braking system.
Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the issues.
Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks.
Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
Speak, write and communicate in English.
Ability to communicate calmly and effectively.
Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting information.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
