Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including systems such as steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking, drive trains, suspensions, power steering, clutches, transmissions, and engine components. Ensure repairs meet all federal, state/provincial, and local guidelines. Conduct test drives to verify repairs.
  2. Arrange inspections and obtain approval for major repairs before vehicle release.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  4. Identify and report additional maintenance needs discovered during repairs, including those requiring higher qualification levels.
  5. Record time, parts used, and details of repairs accurately.
  6. Perform road calls and on-road repairs as assigned.
  7. Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to the Lead Technician.
  8. Exhibit high ethical standards and personal integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. 2-4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
  2. Skills in diagnostics, electrical, and AC systems are essential.
  3. Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment required.
  4. Experience with fleet vehicles and familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems preferred.
  5. Possession of the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  7. Valid applicable state license; CDL preferred. Company offers free training for mechanics.
  8. ASE Certification is desirable but not required.
