Job summary

GFL is hiring at our West Point, VA shop to maintain a fleet of diesel and CNG vehicles. Under supervision, you will perform daily inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to keep equipment road-ready.

Offers include a $2,500 sign-on bonus, full-time schedules, year-round OT, PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, and health benefits after 60 days. CDL and ASE certifications are preferred but not required to start.

Qualifications

• 3+ years diesel and/or CNG maintenance experience required.
• Diagnostic software experience a plus.
• Brake Safety Certificate and Section 609 A/C Certification required.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Class A or B CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100 lbs. as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily DOT inspections, electronic diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on fleet vehicles.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, emission systems, and other truck components.
• Conduct test drives to identify malfunctions and ensure proper operating condition, maintaining a safe and clean work environment compliant with DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Complete daily work orders, inspection reports, and parts orders accurately.

Under the guidance of shop leadership, conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on both Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to maintain GFL's fleet in safe and continuous "road ready" condition. $2,500 Sign on Bonus!

Position Overview & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years of diesel and/or CNG maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic software is a plus.
• Brake Safety Certificate and Section 609 A/C System Certification required.
• ASE certifications are preferred.
• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, or the ability to obtain one within six (6) months of employment.
• Strong proficiency in hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, standard brake systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
• Able to stand, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs. as required during normal shop operations.
