Job summary

Hunter Truck in Bow, NH is seeking skilled diesel technicians to join our long‑standing Peterbilt dealership. Since 1938 we’ve built a reputation for integrity, teamwork, and outstanding service.

You’ll perform repairs from routine maintenance to complex electrical and major component work, communicate with parts, document work, and stay current with manufacturer bulletins. We hire across experience levels; a valid driver’s license and a one‑year technical certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• Entry to 5+ years in diesel repair preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• One-year certificate from college or trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics.
• Diagnose malfunctions and complete repairs with supervision.
• Assist others on major repairs.
• Coordinate with parts department to obtain parts.
• Document all work and warranty information.
• Road test vehicles as needed and ensure safety.

POSITION AT A GLANCE

Sign-On Bonus: Earn up to $5,000 for Expert and Master-Level Diesel Technicians!

What You’ll Do

• Perform minor to advanced repairs as outlined on the repair order
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs as directed by a supervisor
• Assist other technicians on major repairs
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
• Save and tag warranty or customer‑requested parts
• Examine vehicles for additional safety or service needs
• Document all work performed and recommended, including warranty information
• Road test vehicles as required or refer to test technician
• Keep work area, service truck, and customer vehicles clean and organized
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins
• Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and adhere to Hunter Truck safety policies

Expert To Master Levels Will Also

• Handle complex mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
• Performs electrical and/or air conditioning system repairs.
• Performs major component repairs and/or overhauls

What You Bring

Education & Experience: We’re hiring technicians at all experience levels—from entry‑level candidates with up to 3 years of experience to highly skilled professionals with 5+ years in the field.

Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required; must meet company insurability standards. A one‑year certificate from a college or vocational/technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience, is preferred.

Physical Requirements: Regular standing and use of hands; frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs , frequently up to 100 lbs , and occasionally more than 100 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
