Job summary

United Ag & Turf is a John Deere Dealership with locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and New Mexico. The service technician role involves diagnosing and repairing John Deere equipment, mentoring trainees, and managing billable time with thorough documentation.

Beyond technical duties, candidates should keep up to date with John Deere systems, operate required tools and equipment, and follow safety protocols while delivering high-quality service across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Experience performing service repairs; demonstrated experience meeting performance metrics.
• Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools following Technical Manual procedures.
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
• Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred

Purpose

Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer agricultural, compact construction, and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Advisor, or Shop Foreman.
