Job summary

United Construction & Forestry is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment. The role requires owning and maintaining your own tools, strong customer service, and a commitment to safety.

You’ll follow safety rules, diagnose problems, document parts and service costs, and assist in supervising helpers. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with potential after-hours shifts and opportunities for wage

Qualifications

  • Must own and maintain their own tools
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions
  • Able to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible for after-hours calls
  • Strong customer service skills and communication abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Recondition and repair engines, transmissions, tractors and industrial equipment
  • Diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs
  • Keep records to establish parts and service costs
  • Handle customer problems tactfully and objectively
  • Assist in directing work of helpers or trainees and provide instructions

  • Prepare reports and forms for job assignments
  • Report additional work requirements on equipment to the Service Manager
  • Participate in all training programs directed by the Service Manager
  • Maintain a clean work area and orderly fashion

Schedule: Monday – Friday 1st shift – Saturdays as needed

United Construction & Forestry is looking for a Service Technician. This individual will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial construction and forestry equipment.


What You’ll Do


  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

  • Recondition and repair all engines, transmission, tractors and industrial equipment assigned by the shop supervisor

  • Diagnose problems and determine what repairs are needed

  • Keep records required to establish cost of parts and service charges to the customer

  • Handle customer problems both objectively and tactfully

  • Assist in directing work of helpers or on the job trainees and provide instructions as required

  • Maintain a clean work area and perform miscellaneous duties associated with the job

  • Develop skills in disassembly, assembly and repair of components and machines

  • Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Product Support Manager, Service Manager, Service Writer or Shop Foreman

  • Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments

  • Report any additional work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer

  • Participate in all training programs as directed by the Service Manager

  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion

The posted pay range reflects the full compensation range for this position. Starting pay is determined based on relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic market, and internal equity. Most new hires are placed within the lower to middle portion of the range, with opportunities for continued wage growth as they develop in the role.
