Job summary

Advantage Chevrolet of Hodgkins is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join a team focused on quality and efficiency. You will perform repairs per repair orders, diagnose issues, and communicate findings with the service team to ensure safe, reliable vehicle performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of diesel experience, GM vehicle familiarity, and a clean driver's license. Own tools are required to complete tasks and contribute to a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Diesel Mechanic with 5+ years of experience.
• Must have a clean and valid driver's license.
• Domestic GM vehicle experience is preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Strong automotive background and reliability.
• Solid teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair work on vehicles per the repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs.
• Performs vehicle repairs within current capability/skill level.
• Examines vehicles to determine further safety or service needs.
• Communicates with service advisor if additional work is needed.
• Documents all work performed on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Perform vehicle repairs within your current capability/skill level.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor and/or dispatcher if additional work is needed.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Performs additional related duties as required and assigned.
