Job summary

Ideal Ready Mix is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in West Burlington, IA to keep our heavy construction equipment and fleet in top condition. You will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines and complex systems, while maintaining detailed service records and training operators on safety inspections.

Prospective candidates should have 3-5+ years of diesel experience, the ability to provide their own tools, and a Class A/B CDL. Expect on-call shifts, weather exposure, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred (or equivalent post-secondary training).
• Ability to provide your own tools.
• Work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to travel, work weekends, and be on call.
• Class A or B CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service heavy construction equipment, trucks, and other fleet vehicles.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Work on gasoline and diesel engines, plus mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Complete and maintain accurate service records and reports.
• Train drivers and operators on proper vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures.
• Respond to on-call maintenance needs as required.
