Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. seeks a skilled technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, electrical, hydraulic, and associated systems on heavy- and light-duty trucks. You may work with CNG and gasoline vehicles and may perform welding.

The team emphasizes safety and efficiency, with opportunities for ASE support and monthly tool allowances. Eligible candidates should be able to interpret service manuals, estimate repair times and materials, and mentor assistants.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy- and light-duty trucks.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Able to estimate time and materials for repairs.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs for diesel, gasoline and CNG systems.
• Complete repairs and maintenance to maximize safe, productive operations.
• Communicate issues with managers/drivers and discuss preventive techniques.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Utilize vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

Summary Of Position

Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy duty and light duty trucks. This may include gasoline, diesel and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and/or repair orders.
• Communicates with managers/drivers as to issues with vehicles and discusses preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Conducts repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain high standard of Ethics and Dependability.

• Knowledge of Suspension Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair
• Knowledge of Brake System Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair
• Knowledge of Electrical System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair
• Knowledge of Hydraulic System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair
• Proficient in the use of Diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from Service Manuals
• Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and the ability to estimate time and material required for repairs
• Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months)
