Guardian Fleet Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic in Fort Wayne, IN. You will work on wreckers, trailers, fleet vehicles, and other equipment with both diesel and gas engines, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance to keep our fleet on the road.

Qualifications

• Previous diesel or heavy‑duty mechanic experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines.
• Perform computer diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
• Repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems.
• Diagnose and repair air brake and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Document repairs and parts used.
