Job summary

The candidate should bring diesel troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or in a team. The position requires a High School Diploma/GED, own tools, and experience with fabrication and welding.

Qualifications

• Must have own tools
• Mechanical experience working on commercial vehicles
• Diesel engine troubleshooting skills with various engine manufacturers
• Experience with basic fabrication, use and application of welders and gas torch systems
• Experience performing preventative maintenance
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Physical requirements including lifting up to 100 lbs and working in extreme conditions

Responsibilities

• Service equipment according to a planned schedule and in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot, repair and clean commercial trucks and equipment including concrete buildup
• Check, prioritize and repair write-ups based on safety, service and PM issues
• Keep documentation on repairs and communicate status of downed vehicles to shop manager and dispatch
• Assist in maintaining parts inventory and organize parts
• Work safely and report incidents/injuries to management
• Attend safety meetings as scheduled
• Perform other related duties as assigned
