We are hiring multiple Diesel Mechanics at our Portage, IN location to maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles and related equipment.

General Description of Position

Assist in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial vehicles and related equipment. Perform preventive maintenance within specified Service Repair Times (SRT), follow established maintenance procedures and guidelines, and consistently observe safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment within specified SRT.
• Follow established maintenance procedures and guidelines.
• Adhere to safety procedures at all times.
• Maintain, inspect, grade, replace, and repair commercial vehicle tires as part of the Tire Program.

Working Conditions

Shop environment with continuous exposure to noise, intermittent standing, walking, occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather elements.

Physical Activities

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands for finger, handle, or feel tasks. Reaching, talking, hearing, and occasional climbing or balancing. Must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds. Requires close vision.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Specialized schooling and/or on‑the‑job education in a specific skill area such as data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc. Minimum 7 to 11 months of related experience or training and 1 to 6 months of related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
