Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment with minimal supervision.

Based in the United States, you will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, travel to customer sites when needed, and assist in training junior technicians while maintaining documentation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Ability to travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites when required; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain work orders and documentation daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.

As a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - CES), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer owned equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
What You’ll Do

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
