Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - CES) to perform maintenance and complex repairs on customer-owned equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will document work, upsell equipment, and travel to job sites as needed, while delivering exceptional customer service and teamwork.

This role is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position emphasizes safety, professional growth, and opportunities within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• 3–5 years repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tool knowledge.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Own tools required for the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex customer-owned equipment.
• Maintain work orders with accurate documentation daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs when required; keep the service vehicle clean.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
• Perform other duties as needed.
