Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech II - CES) to perform maintenance and repairs on customer-owned equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will travel to job sites as needed and contribute to high-level customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and tool ownership, with 1–2 years of repair experience or trade school education. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 1-2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment; or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
