Job summary

Saia is seeking a capable Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on heavy-duty trucks and equipment at our Elk Grove facility in California. You will diagnose failures, repair mechanical, electric, and systems, use hydraulic jacks, and assist with engine/transmission work while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key requirements include a high school diploma or GED, being 18+, US work authorization, and having your own maintenance tools.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language to perform the job tasks and review documents.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains systems and parts for class 6-8 powered tractors.
• Diagnoses failures and repairs mechanical, electric, and system components.
• Uses hydraulic jacks to access underneath vehicles.
• Assists in engine, transmission, differential, and spring replacements.
• Tests vehicles after repairs to ensure proper operation.
