Job summary

Kimble Company is seeking a versatile mechanic, from entry level to experienced, to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our fleet vehicles. The role offers opportunity to grow to an advanced level by applying knowledge of mechanical systems and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, using manuals and diagrams. DOT rules apply; training for advancement is provided.

Qualifications

• Some mechanical knowledge or education.
• Basic knowledge of gasoline and/or diesel engines preferred.
• Knowledge of working safely in a shop environment and around tools.
• Ability to read repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair.
• Physical ability to perform job duties (standing, lifting, pushing, bending, etc.).
• Lift up to 50 pounds and drive service vehicles safely.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on fleet vehicles safely and in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
• Use vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Complete work within Standard Repair Times and report deviations to Supervisor.
• Perform day-to-day tasks under limited supervision.
