Florida Infrastructure in New York maintains a growing fleet of diesel trucks and heavy equipment used for regional infrastructure projects. We are seeking a dependable Diesel Mechanic who can diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to keep projects on schedule.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of diesel experience, knowledge of engines and truck systems, and the ability to read manuals; CDL is a plus. This is a full-time role with opportunities for overtime and career growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel/heavy equipment experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read repair manuals and technical documentation.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and system checks
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other components
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
• Communicate with management regarding repair timelines and equipment needs
• Follow all safety procedures and shop best practices

Position Overview

The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks and heavy equipment used in daily operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring our fleet stays operational, safe, and ready to support ongoing infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, and system checks
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other components
