Role Description This full-time, on-site Diesel Mechanic role is based in Modesto, CA and supports the readiness and reliability of Iron Core Rentals’ fleet of construction and industrial equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment, including boom lifts, telehandlers, generators, and related machinery. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, completing safety and compliance checks, and documenting all work performed. The role also involves coordinating with the operations team to prioritize repairs, minimize equipment downtime, and support timely deliveries to customers. The Diesel Mechanic will maintain a clean, safe work environment and may occasionally assist with field service calls to job sites.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Diesel Mechanics skills with experience working on heavy-duty engines and related systems.
• Candidates should possess Heavy Equipment knowledge, including familiarity with construction and industrial machinery such as lifts, telehandlers, and generators.
• Candidates should possess Equipment Maintenance skills, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
• Candidates should possess Vehicle Maintenance experience, including inspections, repairs, and safety checks on fleet vehicles.
• Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills, including scheduled servicing, documentation, and adherence to manufacturer and regulatory standards.
• Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or heavy equipment mechanics is beneficial.
