Job summary

Ecowaste Solutions is seeking a diesel mechanic to keep our garbage truck fleet rolling. You'll diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, ensuring routes stay on schedule and DOT compliance is met. If you value hands-on work and a fast-growing team, we'd like you to join us.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of diesel maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of diesel maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on diesel garbage trucks and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify safety concerns and ensure DOT compliance.
  • Complete accurate maintenance and repair records for all fleet vehicles.
  • Communicate repair status and findings with dispatch and operations teams.
  • Work with others in a team environment to ensure fleet uptime and superior service.
  • Other maintenance tasks as needed.

Job description

At Ecowaste Solutions, our drivers are the heartbeat of our operation, and the Diesel Mechanic is the person who keeps that heartbeat running. We're looking for someone who knows their way around a diesel engine, takes pride in their work, and understands that when a garbage truck is down, the whole route feels it. In this role, you'll be hands-on every day, diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and making sure our garbage trucks stay road-ready. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Additional hours may be needed.
