Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech I). You’ll apply diesel, automotive, welding and other mechanical skills to maintain and perform minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional environment.

You’ll perform pre- and post-use maintenance checks, report machine conditions to management, demonstrate equipment to customers, and assist with pick-up and delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including checking oil, grease, fluids and tagging of equipment for rental ready status.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Compensation Range

$22.90 - $46.60
