Job summary

Southland Holdings in Lakeland, FL is seeking an experienced construction Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and hydraulic equipment on heavy earthmoving and crane assets. You will work with vibratory hammers, lattice boom cranes, excavators, bulldozers, and marine engines; prior exposure to marine drives and generators is a plus.

Overview

Johnson Bros is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated construction mechanics to join our team as an experienced construction Diesel Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair diesel and hydraulic equipment efficiently, including vibratory hammers, diesel impact hammers, lattice boom crawler cranes, and RT cranes; perform repairs on earthwork equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, skid steers, rollers, and related machinery. Experience with all listed equipment is not required but preferred.
• Assist with marine engine and drive-train work on small boats (e.g., skiffs, tugboats) and maintain related systems; work on small engines such as generators, air compressors, and light plants is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel and hydraulic equipment, with exposure to heavy construction and earthmoving equipment.
• Familiarity with vibratory hammers, diesel impact hammers, lattice boom crawler cranes, RT cranes, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, skid steers, rollers is preferred though not required.
• Beneficial experience on marine engines and drive trains, generators, air compressors, and light power plants.
