What You’ll Do
- Keep the Fleet Road-Ready: Perform routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and complex repairs on modern heavy-duty diesel trucks (Roll-off, Front-load, Rear-load).
- Master the Mechanics: Inspect and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, electrical systems, suspensions, and transmissions.
- Solve Complex Problems: Utilize diagnostic software and troubleshooting expertise to identify and fix issues fast and effectively.
- Safety & Quality Standards: Ensure every vehicle leaving the shop meets or exceeds GFL and DOT safety regulations.
- Team Up: Work closely with drivers, shop supervisors, and operations to minimize downtime and keep routes running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty diesel truck repair or completion of a vocational/diesel technology program.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment systems.
- Tool Set: Your own basic set of mechanics tools (specialized tools provided by GFL).
- CDL / License: Valid driver’s license (Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B is a major plus!).
- Great Work Ethic: A team-first attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety every single day.
