Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner.

You will troubleshoot, service and document work while delivering excellent customer service to our clients. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of repair experience (or trade school), own tools, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of repair/maintenance experience or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
