Job summary

Carolina Industrial Staffing is looking for an experienced Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our Columbia, South Carolina maintenance team. This is a first shift position.

Work with a well-established, family-owned transportation company operating a private fleet of tractors and tanker trailers. We are looking for a dependable mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and on the road.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel trucks and heavy equipment preferred.
• Experience on Class 8 tractors and trailers strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills are required.
• Knowledge of air brake and electrical systems is expected.
• Must have own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel tractors and trailers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air brake, suspension systems.
• Repair brakes, wheel ends, lighting, air systems, and trailer components.
• Document maintenance and repairs as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support fleet safety and readiness.

Carolina Industrial Staffing is looking for an experienced Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our Columbia, South Carolina maintenance team. This is a first shift position.

Work with a well-established, family-owned transportation company operating a private fleet of tractors and tanker trailers. We are looking for a dependable mechanic who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and on the road.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel tractors and trailers
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air brake, suspension, and related systems
• Repair and maintain brakes, wheel ends, lighting, air systems, and other trailer components
• Identify problems before they result in breakdowns
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Document maintenance and repairs as required
• Help keep our fleet safe, dependable, and ready for operation

Qualifications

• Previous diesel truck, heavy-duty equipment, or fleet maintenance experience preferred
• Experience working on Class 8 tractors and trailers strongly preferred
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of air brake and electrical systems
• Must have your own basic hand tools
• Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
• CDL is a plus, but not required
• Must be dependable and able to work independently
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Shift

7am - 5pm, Monday - Friday

Pay

$20-30/hour depending on previous experience; paid weekly via direct deposit or company issued paycard
