Job summary

Mueller Roofing Distributors is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems in our fleet. You will perform PM services, inspections, and major repairs, troubleshoot using diagnostic tools, and ensure safety standards are met.

The role involves repairing brakes, suspensions, cooling systems, and drivetrain components, with welding and fabrication as needed. Roadside support and a strong emphasis on customer communication are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension, steering, HVAC, hydraulics, and air brake systems.
• Perform PM services, inspections, diagnostics, and major mechanical repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and OEM schematics.
• Repair and replace components including brakes, wheel seals, tires, suspension parts, turbochargers, cooling systems, and drivetrain components.
• Perform welding and fabrication work when necessary.
• Complete DOT inspections and safety-related repairs.
• Operate shop equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Communicate repair findings clearly with management and customers.
• Assist with roadside service calls when needed.
• Experience working on diesel trucks, trailers, heavy-duty equipment, or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, and PM procedures.
• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a shop environment.

• Valid driver’s license preferred
• CDL is a plus but not required
• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in a shop environment
