Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks a Mechanic - Pump (Service Tech II) in the Fluid division to perform maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, troubleshoot, and service equipment at customer sites. You’ll contribute to safe operation and deliver strong customer service to clients across the region.

This role offers hands-on growth, opportunities to train others, and a path toward higher level tech roles within the Service Department as you expand your expertise

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing and maintaining pumps of various sizes and manufacturers.
• Solid knowledge of construction equipment and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Own the tools applicable to the position.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform service documentation for pump maintenance.
• Train lower level Technicians on procedures and best practices.
• Demonstrate equipment capabilities to customers.
• Travel to customer sites to perform service.
• Handle other duties as assigned by supervision.

As a Mechanic - Pump (Service Tech II) within the Fluid division at United Rentals, you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of pumps. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you’ll have the potential to work towards higher level Tech roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Perform service documentation
• Train lower level Technicians
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Travel to customer sites
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining pumps of various sizes, capacities and manufacturers
• Knowledge of construction equipment
• Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Own the tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
