Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Service Technician to service vehicles and equipment, performing general and detailed repairs on trucks and engines.

The role requires reading job orders, diagnosing malfunctions, and planning work procedures while ensuring safety and quality on every job. Responsibilities include engine overhauls, inspecting safety devices, and maintaining warranty parts processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician.
  • CDL and Medical card preferred but not required.

  • Attend training classes and stay current with factory technical bulletins.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.

Overview

A Diesel Service Technician provides service to customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This includes cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, disassembly and reconditioning of parts as needed, with installation guided by proper manuals, report writing, and parts reuse evaluation.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
  • Current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines of the company’s insurance carrier
  • Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVSS; preferred but not required
