Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Provo, UT to maintain and repair diesel locomotives in a shop and field setting. You will inspect, service, and diagnose mechanical issues, with growth opportunities and on‑the‑job training.

Responsibilities include following safety guidelines, complying with FRA regulations, repairing diesel engines, performing welding, and collaborating on repair strategies in all weather and elevations.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation to site.
• At least 18 years of age.
• 2 years of relevant heavy mechanic work is a plus.
• Journeyman locomotive certification or experience is a plus.
• FRA regulations knowledge related to locomotive maintenance is beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Perform daily inspections, servicing, and maintenance on diesel locomotives.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions; repair or replace components.
• Carry out locomotive car-body repairs, including welding when required.
• Operate relevant tools and equipment in varying weather and heights.
• Keep accurate records in compliance with FRA and company policy.
• Interpret blueprints and repair instructions; collaborate on repair strategies.
