Job summary

Emery Air LLC in Rockford, IL seeks a full-time GSE/Diesel Mechanic to perform repairs and PMI on ground service equipment, including fuel trucks and deicing trucks. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and service gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

The role requires 5–7 years of mechanical experience, 3–5 years diesel experience, and pesticide certification desirable. Pre-employment screening and credentials are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5–7 years of mechanical experience.
• 3–5 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Professional automotive/mechanical certification is desirable.
• Technical background in hydraulics, electrical, welding, body work, etc.
• Computer literacy including familiarity with computer aided maintenance tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the maintenance of the vehicles' functional condition by inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing both gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ensures all maintenance records are completed and maintained as required by regulations.
• Coordinates response to all repair calls on the operational facilities.
• Assists in the investigation of all damage to service equipment.
• Coordinates and documents all monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks of the equipment.
• Coordinates timely reporting of complete and in process repairs to the GSE Manager.
• Maintains regular and timely attendance as set forth by company guidelines.
