Job summary

US Foods in Grand Forks ND is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and bobtails. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and document repairs using our fleet software.

The role requires 3 years of hands-on heavy-duty diesel experience, a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma. Compensation reflects experience with benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
• Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, assign third party vendor, and plan actions with partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety rules and regulations.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
• Backup to other maintenance staff and grow responsibilities as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
