Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Diesel Fleet Mechanic in Marion, Indiana to ensure all trucks, trailers, and yard tractors meet safety and federal standards. The role involves diagnosing and repairing components, performing PMs, and maintaining high safety and reliability across the fleet.

You will work on air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems, with preferred experience in welding and fabrication and tire repair.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair truck, trailer components such as doors, floors, side panels, electrical and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tractor and trailer equipment including routine repairs and repair orders.
• Perform maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability on fleet vehicles.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Maintain repairs for class 8 trucks, trailers and yard tractors.
• Safely operate gauges, forklifts, shunt truck, torches, grinders, and various tools.
• Perform DOT inspections and compliancy.
