Conducts scheduled inspections, including annual and regulatory checks, diagnoses malfunctions across various vehicle systems, and executes repairs per manufacturer standards. Documents work, learns company-specific software, and performs electrical and welding tasks as needed. Addresses driver reports promptly and maintains vehicle safety and performance.
Requires medium/heavy-duty truck technical training, a high school diploma or GED, and 3+ years of fleet maintenance experience. Must hold relevant certifications (e.g., Brake Inspector, ASE preferred). Skills include diagnostic software proficiency, electrical system repair, welding, and adherence to safety and DOT regulations. Strong manual dexterity, physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and ability to operate various equipment are essential.
Work involves outdoor conditions, lifting, bending, and working in confined or high places. Candidates should be comfortable with variable work hours, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed. The environment typically has moderate noise and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
