Job summary

Berman Construction is seeking a Mechanic in Orlando, FL for a full-time, on-site role. The position offers hourly pay of $21.50–$24.00 and supports a fleet of 40–50 vehicles plus landscape equipment. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and tools to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with vehicle, equipment, or small engine maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and light-duty or heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Two-cycle experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and maintain service documentation and follow maintenance procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair company vehicles and equipment
• Perform maintenance and repairs on landscape tools, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, blowers, and trimmers
• The role supports a fleet of 40–50 vehicles, along with two-cycle equipment
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation on all maintenance and repairs
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, safety guidelines, and applicable regulations
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop and work areas
• Coordinate and work collaboratively with other team members and trades
• Operate in accordance with Berman policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations
