Job summary

Anderson Industrial Engines Co., Inc. (AIE) in Omaha, NE is seeking an Application Engineer to design and support diesel and spark-ignited engine packages for key OEM customers, perform field evaluations, and assist sales with specifications.

You will work with production management to monitor packaging operations, travel to customer sites about 6–8 nights per month, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance and quality across engineering projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; SolidWorks experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of CI engine after-treatment systems and EPA/CARB emissions.
• Strong data acquisition skills: vibration, temperature and pressure measurements.
• Experience with J1939 protocol, electronics, wiring, sensors and hydraulics.
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
• Ability to build and maintain customer/vendor relations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with OEM customers on technical and engineering issues.
• Conduct engine application reviews at customer locations and complete compliance docs.
• Ensure timely reporting using Excel and internal software; maintain docs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide guidance to engineers.
• Mentor AIE engineers using field experience and reviews.
• Collaborate with service, production and sales on troubleshooting.
• Create components and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop BOMs for sales and production teams.
• Analyze failures with OEM staff and service personnel.
