TransWest Mobility is hiring for skilled fleet technicians in Washington. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on motorcoaches, shuttles, and other fleet vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability.

A strong background in diesel systems and electrical work is essential, with experience using OEM tooling and diagnostics. The role offers varied work across maintenance, inspections, and field service, with opportunities to advance through technician levels and participate

Qualifikationen

  • High school diploma or GED required for technician roles.
  • Professional experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, or completed vocational program.
  • Experience with transit buses, motorcoaches, or fleet equipment preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, brake, powertrain, and HVAC issues on fleet vehicles.

Aufgaben

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on motorcoaches, shuttles, and fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, electrical, and drivetrain components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, labor hours, parts inventory, and fleet files.
  • Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot vehicle systems and determine solutions.
  • Conduct road tests and field service calls to verify repairs and respond to breakdowns.
  • Support onboard vehicle technology installation and troubleshooting (telematics, Wi‑Fi, tablets, cameras).

Compensation:
  • A Tech $40.00 - $50.00 /hour
  • B Tech $30.00 - $45.00 /hour
  • C Tech $25.00 - $35.00 /hour

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)accruesin accordance withcompany policy and may be used for vacation, personal, or sick time. Team Members are eligible toaccrueup to 80 hours (10 days) of PTO annually, with increased accrual opportunities based on years of service.
  • One paid personal day annually. 8 hours for full-time Team Members and 4 hours for part-time Team Members.
  • Seven Company-Observed Holidays. Full-time non-exempt Team Members receive eight hours of holidaypayand part-time non-exempt Team Members receive four hours of holiday pay for eligible holidays.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on motorcoaches, cutaway shuttles, light-duty vehicles, electric vehicles, and other fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, electrical, fuel, and drivetrain components to ensure vehiclesoperatesafely and reliably.
  • Review driver defect reports, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair priorities to proactively address fleet concerns, minimize road calls, and maximize vehicle availability.
  • Maintainaccuratemaintenance records, labor hours, repair documentation, parts inventory, and fleet maintenance files.
  • Utilize OEM diagnostic software, specialized tools, and repair manuals to troubleshoot vehicle systems anddetermineeffective repair solutions.
  • Perform road tests, quality inspections, and field service calls as needed to verify repairs and respond to vehicle breakdowns or emergency situations.
  • Support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of onboard vehicle technology, including telematics, Wi-Fi equipment, tablets, cameras, and other fleet systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following TransWest safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate withFleetleadership,fellowtechniciansand Operationstoensure fleet reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GEDrequired.
  • Professional experiencemaintainingand repairing vehicles, or successful completion of a vocational automotive or heavy-duty diesel program,associate'sdegree inautomotive technology, Heavy Duty Diesel, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Placement within the Technician career path is based on experience, technical knowledge, and demonstrated competencies:
  • Technician A Tech:5+ years of professional experience.
  • Technician B Tech:3+ years of professional experience.
  • Technician C Tech:2+ years of professional experience or completion of an accredited automotive or diesel technician program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, andmaintainingelectrical, brake, powertrain, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience working on transit buses, motorcoaches, commercial vehicles, or fleet equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiencyusing vehicle diagnostic software and OEMdiagnostictools,likeCummins INSITE, CumminsQuickServe, ALLDATA, WABCO, Allison DOC, Bendix ACom, and Ford IDS.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Ability to obtain andmaintaina DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC). TransWest will cover the cost of certification for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability toworka flexible schedule to support operational needs, including occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions andperformthe physical requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • EPA Section 609 HVAC Certification.
  • Advanced automotive or heavy-duty diesel training.
  • ASE certifications relevant to automotive or heavy-duty diesel repair.
  • OEM certifications (Cummins, Allison, Ford, or equivalent).
  • Experience working on electric vehicles.
  • CDL Class A or B with Passenger endorsement.
