Job summary

Avalon Transportation is seeking a sharp Diesel Bus Mechanic (B Level) to join our Phoenix team. Diagnose, maintain, and resurrect luxury diesel coaches for safety and performance, reporting to the on-site General Manager.

You’ll handle daily fleet maintenance, drive and document repairs, and ensure uptime with precise logging and compliance. Bring 3–5+ years of diesel bus experience and own tools. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• diesel bus repair experience required.
• 3–5+ years in diesel bus repairs preferred.
• Proficiency with Cummins/Detroit engines and DPF systems.
• J-Pro diagnostics knowledge is a plus.
• Must bring own tools.
• CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive daily fleet maintenance in Phoenix.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel buses (MCI, VanHool, Prevost).
• Prioritize tasks for peak efficiency and uptime.
• Tackle preventative maintenance on engines, brakes, A/C, suspension, and more.
• Log precise records of every fix.
• Champion safety, compliance, and elite standards.
• Handle emergency breakdowns or after-hours support.

Step in as fleet guardian: Diagnose, maintain, and resurrect luxury diesel coaches for unbreakable safety and speed. Core to our tight-knit maintenance crew, you'll report to the on-site General Manager—charting tasks, crushing them, and logging via our digital fleet system. Your edge keeps the wheels turning on real adventures.

What You’ll Do

• Drive daily fleet maintenance in Phoenix
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel buses (MCI, VanHool, Prevost)
• Prioritize tasks for peak efficiency and uptime
• Tackle preventative maintenance, engines, brakes, A/C, suspension, and beyond
• Log precise records of every fix
• Champion safety, compliance, and elite standards
• Jump on emergency breakdowns or after-hours support

What We’re Looking For

• Journeyman diesel mechanic with serious bus chops
• 3–5+ years in diesel bus repairs (motorcoaches preferred)
• Mastery of Cummins/Detroit Diesel engines and DPF systems
• Strong skills in A/C, brakes, and suspensions
• Bring your own tools
• J-Pro diagnostics know-how
• Fleetio experience a bonus
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
• Killer communication and self-starter vibe

Schedule & Pay
