Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Lansing, MI is hiring for a Stock and Die Support role in the Carton Department. You will ensure timely availability and movement of materials and dies, support presses, and coordinate with production to minimize downtime.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic arithmetic, ability to read safety rules, and must be able to obtain a Level 2 forklift license. Overtime may be required; comprehensive training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred six months’ work experience.
• Must be able to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to obtain Level 2 fork truck license.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Builds die cassettes.
• Washes pans and other press tools.
• Empties trash.
• Cycles waste gaylords.
• Operates motorized lifts.
• Supplies carton presses with board stock.
• Maintains supplies for presses (i.e., rags, solvents, etc.).
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
